Brown's Creek Watershed District

Brown's Creek Watershed District is a special-purpose local unit of government that manages water resources in a roughly 28-square-mile area of Washington County, covering portions of Stillwater, Oak Park Heights, Grant, Lake Elmo, Hugo, May Township and Stillwater Township. Like other Minnesota watershed districts, it is governed by a board of managers appointed by the county board(s) of commissioners whose territory lies in the district, and is funded primarily through property tax levies together with state and federal grants.
